It is with great sadness that today we have learnt of the passing of a true Regimental icon.
Roy Mills was first and foremost a proud Forester and excellent boxer. Called up for National Service, Roy went to Austria before finding himself with comrades of the Gloucestershire Regiment fighting in Korea.
After his heroics at the Battle of Imjin River, Roy was marched into North Korean captivity. Here he spent almost three hellish years before finally returning to his beloved Cinderford.
Roy Mills was one of the last of a generation of heroes and he will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
